What's new in TestArchitect for Windows
The following new features and improvements are introduced in the latest version of TestArchitect running on Windows.
TestArchitect Enhancement
New Web Inspection Tool – TestArchitect UI Mapify
Introduced in TestArchitect 9.5 Update 2, TestArchitect UI Mapify is our brand-new web inspection tool designed to replace the legacy Web Interface Viewer.
Along with all the core capabilities retained from the Web Interface Viewer, UI Mapify introduces:
- Shadow DOM Support: Easily inspect, capture, and verify Shadow DOM interface elements.
- Extension Setup: TestArchitect UI Mapify is a Chromium extension. You must add it to your browser before use.
- Browser Compatibility: Currently, TestArchitect UI Mapify supports Google Chrome only.
TestArchitect Quality Maintenance
- Keep the TestArchitect document references up to date with user localization.
- Correct the highlighting of controls inside iframe on result screenshots.
TestArchitect Automation
Shadow DOM Support: As of TestArchitect 9.5 Update 2, Shadow DOM elements are officially supported, allowing you to capture controls and execute automation seamlessly.
Well-tested for previous-latest and latest versions of the Web browser (counted until July 10, 2026) - Ensures compatibility with the most recent browser versions for web automation.

| [UI Mapify] AUT hangs when find element with large number of matched elements in shadow DOM. | This issue can occasionally occur when finding generic locators (e.g., span, a, div) within an AUT that contains thousands of elements nested across multiple Shadow DOM levels, which can temporarily affect tool performance. Workaround: If you experience this hang, please refresh the webpage and try using a more specific or unique locator. |
| [UI Mapify] The panel doesn’t display when opening local file | To inspect local files (file:///) using UI Mapify, you need to grant the extension permission. Go to the extension details page in your browser and enable “Allow access to file URLs.” |
