Setting up an Android emulator

TestArchitect can test applications on Android emulators on the host PC.

Important:
Android automation is only supported on Windows.

Supported Android emulator

  • Android SDK (Software Development Kit), which includes the Android Virtual Device (AVD) emulator that runs on your computer.

Use the Android SDK and AVD Manager to create and launch an Android emulator on your host PC.

  • The AVD emulator is a part of the Android SDK, which is available from here.
  • Instructions on installation of the standalone SDK tools are available from here.
